After mysterious fires had been spotted by beach watchers on Savo Island, and an expedition to the island was planned on the 3rd of Sept. after a night voyage the raiders landed on Savo on the morning of Sept 4 and made contact with the natives. debris from the suck US Ships from the battle of Savo Island litter the shores. Two parties are organized to reconnoiter the island and assess if there is any Jap threat on the island. None is found. Guadalcanal Diary pg. 164-172

Might to interesting to have one of the parties find a sailor who survived the Naval battle of savo island and have him live with the natives for a month. They struggle to bring him back because he is scared to fight again.
