The human genome project was the research effort to determine the DNA sequence of the entire human genomeIt ended two years early and cost less than the original estimated budget
The reason why the genome project was important to the decade is that it helps discoverer the stuff we needed to know about human genetics. Also without the project gene therpy wouldn't be a thing.
