The Roosevelt Corollary extended and strengthened the Monroe Doctrine. While the Monroe Doctrine was primarily just a political stance, the Roosevelt Corollary said that the US would use military means to keep unjust European intervention out of the Americas. It also helped establish the idea of the US as a police power in the Western Hemisphere, intervening regularly in the political process of other countries.
