Description: The Assassination of President Lincoln in 1865 was an awful event and so many people mourned the death of Lincoln. In the Ford Theater, he was shot from behind from John Wilkes Booth who would later be shot by a Union soldier for his honor. When he was shot he was rushed out of the Theater and went to a hospital he was treated. He had too many injuries and died a day later. During the assassination, there was a plan to kill more important members of Congress but it failed.
Causes: His assassination was due to his political views on slavery and the fact he was elected for another 4-year term.
Effects: It left a huge impact on the country and the nation that he once ruled. Andrew Johnson was elected to the president because he was the Vice president and he had drastically different views from Lincoln's.
