4 sett 1916 anni - Women's Suffrage

Descrizione:

Throughout history, women were not allowed to vote, and denied general rights. They were deemed to maintain subservience to males in a predominantly patriarchal society. There was even a point in time where women were denied the ability to be educated simply because of centuries old gender norms. The women of those times were limited and confined to completing menial tasks such as housework or working in various factories to make goods during the Industrial Revolution. But during this era, some of the most prominent female writers arose and took pen to paper, and created some of the best literary works known to the following generations to come. The Women’s Suffrage movement in the U.K. fought for equality for more than 60 years, then finally, in 1928, the Equal Franchise Act was passed which granted women regardless of race or social status the right to vote within their government.
