During this time period, the political climate was incredibly hostile. The time period was seemingly filed with violent slave trading, global human trafficking, and revolutions due to aristocratic powers. One of the most historic events that took place during the time period was the storming of the Bastille. This occurred on July 14th and was one of the most iconic events of the entire French revolution. It allowed for many political changes, like the abolition of the French Monarchy, to occur to the French government. Great Britain became a major power worldwide with the French and Indian War in the 1760s and the conquest of large parts of India. However, Britain lost many of its North American colonies after the American Revolution and Indian wars. One other event that shaped the era was the prevalence of slavery. Slavery had become a major part of the European society. The demand for more and more slaves continually increased as the years progressed. This era can majorly be defined as an era filled with war and the need for power amongst the nations.
