British ideals through the Contemporary period have predominately become the ideals of today. The Government of Great Britain is a democratic one which the monarchy remains but most of the power rests within the hands of the Prime minister and British parliament. As said before the Monarch idea is still there but only as figure heads. The Prime Minister is responsible for the nations policies and decisions. The Prime Minister oversees government agencies, appoints members to different rolls of the government and is the pinnacle of the House of Commons. The most famous Prime Minister was Winston Churchill who was a key figure in World War 2. The Cabinet is made up of senior members of the government from all state departments. Every week the Cabinet meets to discuss and decide over important issues within the government. The government is ran by ministers which are selected by the Prime Minister and oversee the different government agencies and departments such as Health, Education.
