Women in Manitoba are the first women in Canada to gain the rights to vote and hold a provincial office. Nelllie McClung played a big part in helping women get a voice in elections and there is a monument of Nellie McClung by the Manitoba Legislature. January 28th is a day celebrated for Nellie McClung and other women who fought so hard for a right to vote.
