The Qin dynasty fell in 1911, after a series of rebellions and failed reforms. It all began due to the Taiping rebellion, which was a series of large scale rebellions that were fueled by public discontent, much of which was due to opium addiction. The Qing administration then attempted to initiate reforms, but this only kept the masses happy for so long. the Boxer rebellion then took place, in which the native people wanted to get rid of foreigners. The last emperor was soon dethroned after the next series of uprisings.
