Upon the writing of this and the further development of the philosophy by its author, Karl Marx, a small movement in Great Britain started by the pioneering work of the Marxist Socialist Movement and of Robert Owen, a Welsh radical, sometimes credited the birth of British Socialism. Owen stopped employing Children under the age of 10, and instead arranged for their education, and improved the working and living conditions of all his workers.
