Quartering Act is a name given to two or more Acts of British Parliament requiring local governments of the American colonies to provide the British soldiers with housing and food.
The cause was due to Parliament punishing Boston for the Boston Tea Party. This Act required colonists to house British soldiers.
This increased people's anger at Britain and fanned the flames of the revolution.
