The Ottoman Empire joins the war in hopes to gain more territorial land and defeat the Russians. The Ottomans tried to gain the help of the Armenians as well as the Russians. Neither groups really got more than the other. The Dashnaktsutyun which was the leading political party for the Armenians decided that each country with the Armenians in them they would fight for the empire were currently in. The Young Turks thought this was betrayal and was deeply angered by this.
