Lenin issues the NEP in March 1921 and it lasted until 1928. The NEP was established to get away from Russia’s old policy of extreme centralization. The Kronshtadt Rebellion helped Lenin open his eyes about how they needed to back away from socialist policies in Russia to help boost the economy. The measures in the policy was the comeback of agriculture, retail trade, and foreign trade. This was important because it gave a completely new government for a long period of time for Russia and it was pretty successful for when it was established.
