In late 1917, civil war broke out in Russia between the Red and White armies. While the Red army fought alongside Lenin, the white army was more of a ragtag alliance of different forces, such as Monarchists, Capitalists, and Socialists. The Soviet Union gained control of Russia in 1923 when the Reds won the war. The significance this has on the Russian Revolution is that it made the country more and more corrupt and nothing seems to be helping.
