Rasputin was assassinated in December of 1916. Rasputin was killed in the basement of the Moika Palace, and his body was found in the Neva River days later. Before he was killed he was known mainly from being a famous figure in Czar’s close friends circle. The Russian Citizens realized that Rasputin had way too big of an impact on how their country was being run, so they had to get rid of him. The person that murdered Rasputin was a man named Felix Yussupov and his reasoning was because he wanted to protect the Russian throne from a terrible influence. Rasputin's assassination was important to the Russian Revolution because his death represented the corruption of their government and the people running it.
