Reinhard Heydrich, Adolf Eichmann, and 15 other Nazi officials decided on the “final solution to the Jewish question”—the complete eradication of the Jewish population through extermination. The meeting gave the orders for the construction of extermination camps, in which approximately three million Jews would die over the course of the next three years in gas chambers.
