3.1 What was the event
The war was a struggle for who was going to become king of France. It was between England and France. The French successfully took the throne. The war’s duration was from 1337 to 1453 (116 years). The English were winning against the French in the beginning. The war slowly turned in favour of the French by the war’s end in 1453.

The war was fought from 1337 to 1453. The lead up to the succession of the throne was a war against England and France. There were other battles going on at the time like the battle of Crecy (26 August 1346, northern France), the battle of Poitiers (19 September 1356, England), the battle of Agincourt (25 October 1415, England.)
3.3 Who was involved
The 100 years’ war was fought between the French and the English to decide who was going to take the throne of France successfully. There were 10 successful kings that reigned during the war. On the French side there were Philip VI, John II, Charles V, Charles VI, and Charles VII. On the English side they had Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V and Henry VI.

They were involved because Charles IV of France died with no male heirs in 1328. That caused Edward III of England to believe that he could become king through his mother, Isabella of France. This began a series of conflicts between different family members who believed they had a claim to the throne.

The war was almost always in the battlegrounds in France. The other battles during the war were the battle of Crecy which was fought near Crecy in the northern part of England. Another major battle at the time was the battle of Poitiers, fought in Nouaille, near the city of Poitiers in Aquitaine, western France. The battle of Agincourt was another major battle and was fought in the country of Saint-pol, Artois. it is 40km south of Calais.
3.6 How did it begin?
The war began with Charles IV, king of France dying in 1328 with no heirs. This lead to Charles’ sisters, son, Edward III thinking he could take the throne through his mother. That made a big deal throughout the whole of England and France which caused the war.
