In high school, I went from enjoying reading to hating it because I had a teacher that would give us books to read, and expect us to know everything about it and never explain it to us. He would give a test on the chapters, but wouldn't talk about the books ever. This was really stressful for me, and had an impact on my reading. I think that a teacher should make sure their students understand what they are learning.
