The Qing dynasty was the last imperial Chinese dynasty. It was founded when Manchurians overthrew the Ming Dynasty and established their own dynasty. It reached its peak under the rule of emperor Kangxi in the late 17th century. During Kangxi’s reign, China’s economy was so prosperous that it has been partially blamed for China's current overpopulation problem.
