The first colony of the British in Australia happened after Cooks charting of the island. They sent around 2,000 people to establish a colony, around 70% were convicts. Very few people volunteered to go to this new location. At first, the colony was very unstable, but stability came after more and more migrants came from Britan. (4.3)
