1 gen 500 anni - Gregorian Chant
Descrizione:
Calm with a monophonic, flexible rhythm, and no steady pulse, Gregorian chant relates to Serialism because Gregorian chant is the base of all music. Music started out as just voices then slowly more voices and instruments were added. Gregorian chant is based on the Church Modes and using the timbre of the male voice to emphasize the prayer of the chant. Over time, church modes developed into certain aspects that fall under serialism, like using register and pitch to emphasize the music.
