The Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric scheme was an initiative of the federal government which provided hundreds of jobs to both migrants and Anglo Australians. The project was massive, with very tough labour in a challenging environment. There are reported cases of both cooperation between Migrants and Anglo Austrlians, and also hostility.
