The 19th Amendment to the Constitution gave American women the right to vote. This right is also known as women’s suffrage. The fight to get women to vote started in 1848 with the movement for women’s rights. With many activists raising awareness for this topic and battling this for a long time, the US government finally passed the 19th Amendment.
