The ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment was completed on August 18, 1920 and it gave women the right to vote. Activists like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton (who had formed groups all around the United States to promote women progression) were ecstatic about this amendment as women were starting to receive equal rights. On November 2 of 1920, more than eight million women across the United States voted in elections for the first time ever.
