The Roosevelt Corollary was used to justify American expansion and intervention in foreign conflicts throughout the western hemisphere. It was an addition to the Monroe Doctrine made by President Theodore Roosevelt, and was used to justify American military intervention in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Cuba.
