28 magg 1830 anni - Indian Removal Act of 1830
Descrizione:
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 stated that the federal government had the power to take Native lands and move the Natives to a “colonization zone” in the west. There has been a long history of Indian mistreatment and removal before and this is no exception. The law said that the president was supposed to use fair means when negotiating means of removal. Despite this fact, it is seen many times that the government disregarded these laws and forcefully removed the natives from their land. One famous example of this removal was the Trail of Tears where over 15,000 Natives were forced to move and over 3,000 did not survive the journey.
