3 feb 1879 anni - French Indian Expansion
Descrizione:
With their largest holding in India [The Nicobar Islands] being purchased in 1873, the Danish were looking to sell off the remainder of their holdings. While they initially wanted to sell the settlements to the British, they were largely uninterested in the meager territories.
So the Danish instead looked to the French who held other Indian Territory nearby; the French were excited for the sale and in 1879, purchased the remainder of Danish East India for $10 million.
This consisted of the territories of Tranquebar, Balasore, Serampore, and Danmarksnagore.
