After Éernal married Hona in Nov. 1883, she quickly established contact with cliques within the Yelonai elite frustrated by Lesoro influance, helping them organise a coup.
Their original plans were about more subtle subversion, since they realised that lesoro air superiority would foil an open uprising. However in March the Hallor sent Yukio of Hallor Digone as an envoy to establish a cooperation. After the great incident Hel set the Hallor to a mysterious path they were forced to comply with, and part of that was the Hallor breaking from the control of the Lesoro Trading Block.
During June leaked information on Lesoro plans of oversees immigration, and Lesoro interference with the treasury caused outrage in Yelona. Protests and strikes spearheaded by the New Populist Party paralised the city for weeks. To supress the protests, Éernal ordered the army to take down the rebellion. This was the conspirator's moment of opportunity.
