- Got caught in the act of making off with the bike and soon found himself back in confinement
- Sent to an Indiana juvenile center
- After 2 days, stole some wire cutters and freed himself & 30 other boys
- Stole a car
- Apprehended within hours of his escape
- When he ended up in juvenile court, he was surprised to see his mother
- She would not take him in
