The Little Rock Nine had finally anticipated their first day of school, however, things weren't easy. The Arkansas National Guard blocked further entry into the school, and crowds of white people were in a rage over the integration taking place. Of course, they didn't make it in (especially our main character of the book Melba), and were to return back home for safety.
