Around this time the Manson Family cult began. The cult revolved around hippie culture and had the purpose of being a space where everyone loved each other like family. Manson, however, was the leader of this cult and started to brainwash the members to be loyal to him. Manson told them that he was Jesus and according to member Sandra Good, even revied a dead bird to prove it. Manson would make the cult use drugs such as LSD so that they could be more easily manipulated.
