5 apr 1908 anni - Paul Ehrlich Wins Nobel Prize for Antitoxins But He Did Much More (Particularly Involving Syphilis)

Descrizione:

In addition to his work on antitoxins and figuring out more about how the immune system works, he also worked with dyes early on, seeing promise in the use of methyline blue to kill the malaria parasite. It was his work though with arsenic to create salvaran in 1909, the first truly effective medication for syphilis, that is most important. Neosalvaran followed in 1912 and both drugs were useful for treating syphilis.
