1337 CE - 1453 CE The Hundred Years’ War (really 116 years of war) was a series of conflicts between England and France over the right to rule the Kingdom of France. The war resulted in a French (ish) victory and thus allowed the French to reclaim their lands. Due to this long strand of battles, many military advancements were made and standing armies were created afterwards. (3.2)
