1 nov 1954 anni - Front de Libération Nationale (FLN) Proclamation

Descrizione:

Le Front de Libération Nationale (FLN), or in English, the National Liberation Front, was the primary resistance movement against France in Algeria before independence. On November 1, 1954, the FLN issued a proclamation calling for national independence in Algeria. While independence was the primary goal, it should be noted that the proclamation put forth both internal and external objectives. Internally, the FLN hoped to garner support and participation from Algerian people to eradicate the colonial state. Externally, the FLN hoped to internationalize the Algerian problem. Because France viewed Algeria as a part of its country, it was imperative that the world shifted its understanding of the colonial relationship in Algeria so that it would not simply be a French problem. The FLN hoped that this change in perspective would make other nations and people more inclined to speak out against France and support their anticolonialist forces.
