Shortly after arriving to The Watch House Inn in Davon's Watch, Gondul raced upstairs and burst into Rowena's room — where he found her pale and sickly, laying in bed.

The two lovers spoke for awhile, Gondul irate and sobbing as he held his woman close. She claimed to "finally know what the Prophet meant," and that she knew how she may help the Brotherband's cause.

She explained that, though her body was gravely ill, her Soul was still within her, untouched. Mannimarco was not stealing her Soul — he was killing her. She admitted this to Gondul, saying that she was in fact dying.

Vignar soon arrived as well after receiving word.

Rowena explained that it was perhaps possible for her to transfer her Soul from her withering body into Gondul — who was himself void of a Soul, just as Gudrune was — in a last-ditch effort to preserve her soul from dying.

Though knowing not what would happen to the woman's body, the two lovers agreed to this plan.

Rowena then claimed it may be possible to preserve or resurrect her body with vampirism, to which Gondul was deeply wounded by. He was reluctant to agree, but without seeing another choice, accepted Rowena's idea.

While holding his lover in his arms, Vignar volunteered to seek out a vampire and acquire its blood to hopefully save Rowena's body. Gondul humbly accepted the man's offer, ordering him to set out after the march on Cyrodiil.

The Breton then took one final, long breath before her pale eyes darkened, leaving her but a cold, lifeless shell.
