The Lebanese army was deployed after demonstrations in Riad al solh Square in central Beirut into fighting between law enforcement and protesters. The Lebanese Red Cross stated that it treated 402 people for injury and transported 40 people to the hospital. Law enforcement used methods such as rubber bullets, tear gas, and water cannons. Demonstrators threw projectiles such as glass bottles full of sand and rocks in addition to setting fires and smashing several storefronts.
