Descrizione:

Dredd Scott was a slave in Missouri but moved to Illinois for 10 years where slavery is illegal. When he returned to Missouri he claimed he was free because he lived in Illinois. The court ruled that he couldn't be a citizen of the U.S. Because Scott was an African American, he was denied citizenship and therefore did not enjoy the rights of the constitution.
