These games were supposed to represent peace but were remembered as the games where a terrorist attack was held. 8 Palestinian terrorists who were a part of the Black September group broke into the Olympic village and kidnapped 11 Israeli athletes. All 11 athletes were killed in addition to 5 terrorists and a police officer. The games were suspended for 24 hours, all the Isrealie atheltes went home, and a tribute was held for the Athletes.
