What: A document signed and created on the English ship called the Mayflower. It was the first written structure of a self government’s principles. This document eventually received a patent from the Council for New England. Became the framework of Plymouth’s government until the colony became a part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Major step in the overall change to a democratic rule in America
