Mexico and USA fought over land. It ended in 1848 when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed. It resulted in Mexico recognizing Texas as part of America and selling all of their land North of the Rio Grande to America. Many people who fought in the Civil War also fought in this war.
