In 1813, Frances Cabot, Lowell, Nathan Appleton, and Patrick Johnson formed the Boston Manufacturing Company which was Americas first factory to fully convert cotton into cloth. This was the start of the Norths factory based economy as this company bought up and spread to other companies, making this business model widespread.
