5 marzo 1770 anni - Boston Massacre of 1770

Descrizione:

British troops were established in the colonies in the 1770s to try to control the uprisings. The tension was high between troops and colonists, partly because troops were underpaid and sought local jobs, creating more competition in the workforce. The "Massacre" started by colonist harassing a red coat by throwing snowballs with rocks in the middle of them. As a result, 7 more redcoats came to aid the one and open fire on colonists. 5 men were killed including a freeman named Atticus. The troops were tried for manslaughter but this altercation was portrayed as an attack by the British. This story fueled more revolutionary talk.
