10 magg 1739 anni - John Wesley founds Methodism
Descrizione:
Many various Protestant denominations had emerged in Britain during the English Reformation: Anglicanism, Presbyterianism, Puritanism, Quakerism, etc. Methodism was a latecomer and, similar to German pietism, was viewed as a "revival movement" that emphazed individual experience of God. John Wesley, similar to Luther, did not intend to break away from the established church but it would eventually become a separate denomination. Unlike Calvin, Wesley emphazied salvation for all who sought it.
