Canada's newspaper Halifax Gazette was established on March 23, 1752, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. John Bushell and his partner Bartholomew Green, Jr published the newspaper weekly and it became Canada's first newspaper. It's first issue described the death of John Goreham, a local official, military officer who had recently died in London 'of the Small Pox'
