Book Torah has a story about a man called Abraham, he lived around 1700 B.C. He herded many sheep’s and other animals. Torah says that God told Abraham to leave Ur and go with his family to a land called Canaan on the coast of Mediterranean Sea. According to the Torah God made a covenant with Abraham. The land of Canaan would belong to Abraham’s descendants, so it became known as the Promised Land.“I will maintain My covenant between Me and you, and your offspring to come, as an everlasting covenant throughout the ages, to be God to you and your offspring to come.”
