27 giug 1952 anni - Miller-Urey
Descrizione:
Stanley Miller and Harold Urey simulated the Earth’s atmosphere and ocean (on a much smaller scale) in an experiment to analyze the contents of what chemicals might form within the “ocean” part of the experiment. To their surprise, they found organic amino acids, which are the fundamental building blocks of life. This experiment suggests that inorganic chemical reactions could result in the synthesis of organic matter. These results seem groundbreaking, but this experiment has received plenty of criticisms by skeptics who pose that variables might not be exactly how the atmosphere was when Earth began to stir its primordial soup.
