It opposed the Ottoman Empire and the French and British armies because the Allies needed the Dardanelle Detroit to resupply its armies but the Detroit was controlled by the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire was fighting against the Allies. It ended on the 9th of January in 1916.
