First Committee of archeology in Jeddah: 1978
On September 11, 1978, the supreme approval was issued for the formation of the first archeological committee in Jeddah following the efforts of the mayor Mohammed Saeed Farsi. The Prince of Makkah then Prince Fawaz assumed the chairmanship of the committee. The first was the opening of a part of Khuzam Palace as an archaeological museum.
