1 gen 1964 anni - Early Multi-track Recording

Descrizione:

This is where things started to change there was now 4 tracks you were able to record on but there was 8 channels
All instruments were first recorded as a basic track and then after they were recorded separately this would allow for each instrument to be captured individually
At this point drop in and drop out came about instrumentalists could now record certain parts of the song as opposed to a whole track
sub mixing was still a thing at this point
stereo ambient is a process of two mics picking up the ambiance as opposed to close miking this is so everything can be picked up for large ensembles this was so not too many mics were used up
Around this time came the process of bouncing down 4 tracks on one tape could be bounced down to one track on another tape recorder and have another 3 tracks that could be used on top of the bounced down tracks
however bouncing down tracks could cause synchronization issues also since analogue was still used tape saturation would be a result of bouncing down too much.
if one tape machine was quicker than the other then you could have pitch issues.
tape analogue included things like Magnetic Analogue tape. Which still had a lot of hiss. a
