On December 25, 1776 was the Battle of Trenton was a small battle during the American Revolution. George Washington was in charge of all this and people were leaving the army and he wanted the war to end hence this battle. George crossed the icy Delaware and America won this battle. This battle has significance because the Hessian army (German soldiers) was crushed by George and his army.
